I suppose it has become the norm for the "johnny-come-latelys" of the newly
ordained superrich in Malaysia to adopt a credo of "Just sue the bugger-lah"
in order to intimidate anyone who dares to question their ways. Doesn't bode
very well for the country when lawsuits determine what public opinion should
be (and cost in resulting lawsuits), especially when journalists are merely
doing their jobs--even it if means exposing the truth for what it is.
In this case, the TS should accept that not all journalists' views can be
bought with a measly monthly paycheck and those that do ascribe to this, are
a disgrace to their profession. I am not saying that one has to be
antiestablishment in order to be a real journalist worth his salt; only, be
prepared to have an opinion and stick to it, regardless of the outcome. And
this Ganesh Sahadevan has done, and done very well, I might add.
I have known Ganesh Sahadevan since we were both barely out of diapers and I
can attest to his passion and beliefs in fair play no matter what the cause.
However, he is also a formidable foe and I can assure the TS that Ganesh will
fight to the finish and he usually has a rabbit in his hat of tricks. Beware
Vincent Tan and your yes-men. You may have met your match! (Brings to mind
David and Goliath.)
How much lower can a man who deems himself so high up in the echelons of
Malaysian society sink than to attack Ganesh, ex-employee through his parents
in Klang knowing full well that Ganesh now resides in Sydney? And then to
have certain members of the judiciary grant injunctions against a person who
is not in the country and unable to defend himself is indicative of a person
in need of professional help.
Dr. M needs to set the TS straight on how to carry himself without having to
resort to such depths since they are supposedly close acquaintances! (Do I
smell a libel lawsuit for that statement?? Ha, ha!)
Good Luck Ganesh and to Vincent Tan, oops, the Hon. Tan Sri, GET A LIFE!!!
